Haberichter—Class 2A strikeout leader—tosses perfect game for Bulldogs

Irma R. Glawe

Irma Rose Glawe, 94, of St. Olaf, died Friday, June 11, 2021, at Garden View Place in Monona. Irma Rose, daughter of Elmer and Blanche (Hansel) Morley, was born on May 22, 1927, in Elk Township, near Garber. Irma was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Church in Garber. She was raised in Clayton County and lived there all her life. She attended grade school and high school at Elkport,  and received a normal teacher’s training degree from Upper Iowa University in Fayette.

Sharon L. Straus

Sharon Lee Straus, 82, passed away on May 17, 2021. Her family was with her. She was born March 11, 1939, in Guttenberg, to Lamar and Luva Chettinger. She grew up on a farm outside of Garber and graduated from Guttenberg High School. She was active in church at St. John Church of Christ. She met and married Harvey Straus in July of 1957. They lived in Cedar Rapids for a short time after they were married and then moved back to Garber.

Carolyn L. Ingham

Carolyn Le Ingham, age 80, of Prairie du Chien, Wis., passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien. She was born April 6, 1941, in Fonda, the daughter of Charles and Cecelia (O’Brien) Mason. She attended St. Mary’s Academy, where she graduated in the class of 1959. She later married Ronald Ingham on July 29, 1961, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in McGregor. They raised their family of four in Georgetown, Ill., then lived in the Madison area for many years where she worked as a sales manager.

Carol M. Jarman

Carol Marie Jarman, 75, of Edgewood, formerly of Strawberry Point, died on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester. She was born on Sept. 1, 1945, at the family farm near Littleport, the daughter of Melvin and Arleene (Gentz) Hakert. Carol attended grade school in Strawberry Point and graduated in 1964 from Central High School in Elkader.
