Opera House Players bring nostalgia to the stage with Peter Pan


The audience will be transported to the world of Peter Pan and Neverland, where the boy who refused to grow up and the Lost Boys dance, sing, fly and sword fight with the dastardly Captain Hook and his colorful band of pirates, during the Opera House Players’ production of Peter Pan.

Captain Hook and the pirates of Neverland will entertain those at the Elkader Opera House on Oct. 6-8 and 12-15.

McGregor-Marquette offers full line-up of events this weekend


The McGregor Fall Arts and Crafts Festival last weekend kicked off a slate of fun activities in Marquette and McGregor. The art fest will continue at Turner Park Oct. 7 and 8. Algerian Ambassador Mohammed Haneche and his wife, Mouna, traveled from Washington, D.C., to Elkader Sept. 28, for an event hosted by The Abdelkader Education Project (AEP). The ambassador was introduced and delivered a short speech to guests at the historic Elkader Opera House, followed by a meet and greet and Q&A discussion at Johnson’s Restaurant.
