William (Bill) Beinborn

 

William (Bill) Beinborn, 85 of Boscobel died Tuesday, March 10, at Boscobel Gundersen Hospital after a long illness. 

Bill was born on July 1, 1929 to Herman and Anna (Elliott) Beinborn in Boscobel. He graduated from Boscobel High School. He married Orpha Kerschner on Aug. 24, 1949 at Immaculate Conception Church in Boscobel. They recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

Michael Gilkes

 

Michael Gilkes, 56, died Thursday, March 19.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 26, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a 4 p.m. Rosary at the Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Prairie du Chien. There will be a one hour visitation before the Mass on Friday at the church.

Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Friday, March 27, at 12 p.m. at Saint Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien. Burial will be held at Brodtville Cemetery.

Julian M. “Danny” Ambrose

 

Julian M. “Danny” Ambrose, 59, of Wauzeka passed away Tuesday, March 17, at the Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, after an extended illness. 

He was born Aug. 14, 1955 in Pulaski, Va., the son of Wilmer and Nellie (Hartley) Ambrose. Danny was a fun loving guy who grew up on a farm in Frederick, Md. He was a handyman that could fix nearly everything and enjoyed helping his friends with projects. After moving to Wisconsin to be close to his daughters, he would make frequent phone calls to check on his friends and their families back home. Danny always looked on the bright side of every situation and was loved by all.

Marian C. Frey

 

Marian C. Frey, 98, of Wauzeka passed away Friday, March 13, at the Crossing Rivers Hospital in Prairie du Chien. 

She was born March 7, 1917 in Hales Corner, the daughter of Theodore and Barbara (Wanasek) Blattner. She married Severin Frey on Sept. 23, 1936 in Waukesha County. He preceded her in death on March 2, 1993. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wauzeka.

Juanita Tully

 

Juanita Tully, 93, of Bridgeport, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, at Crossing Rivers health care in Prairie du Chien.

She was born on May 17, 1921 in the Township of Clayton, Crawford County to Chris and Eva (Gorman) Flynn. She lived for many years in the Prairie du Chien area. She worked at numerous restaurants in Prairie du Chien. She liked to be outdoors and, until last year, she had a large vegetable garden. She also like to crochet and knit. She loved cats and rehabilitated many strays.

Margy M. Mohr

 

Margy M. Mohr, 86, of rural Wauzeka passed away Thursday, March 12, at Crossing Rivers Healthcare in Prairie du Chien. 

She was born Feb. 15, 1929 in Blue River, the daughter of Amos and Carrie (Milham) Bartels. She was united in marriage to Reuben Mohr on July 1, 1947 in Blue River. Together they farmed in the Wauzeka area. Margy enjoyed bowling, her grandchildren, great grandchildren and all the children she babysat. One of her favorite pastimes was playing softball at Bush Ball Park.

William Francis Olinger, Esq.

 

 William Francis Olinger, Esq., 76, of Sanibel, Fla. died Feb. 25, at Health Park Memorial Center, Fort Myers, Fla. after a short battle with lung cancer. 

He was born on Sept. 16, 1938 in Waterloo, Iowa, a son of Ermin and Augusta (Schares) Olinger. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School, University of Iowa, class of 1960, University of Iowa School of Law, class of 1964 with a Juris Doctorate. He served in the Marines Corps. He was a founding partner of Olinger, Sosalla & McManus and later his own firm William F. Olinger P.C. He was inducted into the American Board of Trial Advocacy.

Allen R. Benoy, 67, of Cottage Grove, passed away Saturday, March 7, at his home surrounded by family and friends. 

He was born on Feb. 24, 1948, in Prairie du Chien, the son of Clarence J. and Ella Rose Benoy. Allen was united in marriage to Karen for 42 years.

Elizabeth Marion Jane “Betty” Reynolds

 

Elizabeth Marion Jane “Betty” Reynolds, 93, of Marquette, Iowa died Thursday, March 5, at Great River Care Center, McGregor, Iowa. 

Elizabeth, the daughter of Morris and Lillian (Gorsch) Thomas, was born June 22, 1921 in Williamsburg, Iowa. She was united in marriage with Dale Reynolds on June 11, 1940. Betty, along with her husband, owned and operated the McGregor Roofing Company from 1949-1974. They also built the New Frontier Motel in Marquette; together they operated it from 1964 until their retirement in 1974. They also owned and operated the Little Swiss Drive Inn at McGregor and the Barr House Antique shop in Marquette, Iowa
