Dinah “Diane” Benhart

 

Dinah “Diane” Benhart, 74, of Oelwein, Iowa, passed Sunday morning, April 5, at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

Dinah Diane Ames was born June 3, 1940 at Waukon, Iowa, the daughter of Austin D. and Helen (Huffman) Ames. In 1958, she graduated from Mar Mac High School in Marquette, Iowa. On April 18, 1959, she was united in marriage to Henry Frank Benhart in McGregor. Diane was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein. She enjoyed trips to the casino, vacationing with her sisters, camping, fishing, knitting, crocheting and taking pictures of her grandchildren.

Glenda M. Wolfram, 76, of Oxford, Ohio and formerly of Prairie du Chien, passed away Thursday, April 2, at The Knolls of Oxford Retirement Community in Oxford, Ohio. 

She was born Sept. 16, 1938 in Shullsburg, the daughter of Floyd and Jennie (Peacock) Bennett. She married John Wolfram on June 1, 1957 in Shullsburg, and he preceded her in death on April 16, 2014.

Donald Robert Yohe

 

 Donald Robert Yohe of Gilbert, Ariz., passed away March 30, in Chandler, Ariz. at the age of 95.

Donald was born in Clayton, Iowa to George and Elsie Yohe. Donald was raised on the family farm near the Mississippi River in Clayton and graduated from Guttenberg High School. He served in the Civilian Conversation Corps and for over four years in the United States Army during World War II as a training sergeant in California and later in the Italian Campaign. After the War, he farmed, played minor league baseball, and then attended Bethany Lutheran College, Mankato State University, and the University in Northern Iowa.

Michael Dale Gilkes, 56, of Oshkosh, died Thursday, March 19, at University of Minnesota Medical Center, Minneapolis, Minn. 

Michael was born Dec. 6, 1958 in Prairie du Chien, the son of Franklin and Margaret (Valley) Gilkes. He graduated from West Grant High School in 1977 and received his HVAC degree from Western Technical College in La Crosse.

Helen J. Koecke

 

Helen J. Koecke, 83, of Prairie du Chien passed away Monday, March 23, at the Grandview Care Center in Oelwein, Iowa. 

She was born Sept. 15, 1931 in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of William and Geneva (Adney) Reinhardt. She married Harry Koecke on Jan. 8, 1948. He preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1996. Helen worked at the Metro Theater and Hamann’s Variety Store and later managed Grandma’s Deli in downtown Prairie du Chien.
