Pamela Sue (Johnson) Freitag

 

Pamela Sue (Johnson) Freitag, 54, passed away at Central Community Hospital on Feb. 23, after battling a life-long illness. 

She was born in Hinsdale, Ill., to Paul L. and Betty L. (Pust) Johnson on Aug. 7, 1961. She was a graduate of Central Community School and attended Kirkwood Community College. On April 4, 1981 she married Dennis Freitag at Bethany Lutheran Church in Elkader. To this union, a daughter, Ann Marie was born.

Elmer D. Queram

 

Elmer D. Queram, formerly of Prairie du Chien, died on Feb. 21, at Onalaska Care Center, Onalaska.

Elmer was born in Milwaukee, on Dec. 26, 1916, the first of six children of Albert and Anna Queram. The family moved to Manitowoc, where his father died in Aug., 1926, leaving his mother to raise the six children. She, along with the help of family and friends, and working as a housekeeper, managed somehow.

Harold F. Lenzendorf

 

Harold F. Lenzendorf, 85, of Eastman passed away Sunday, Feb. 21, at his home surrounded by his family following an extended illness. 

He was born Feb. 22, 1930 in Marietta Township, the son of Robert and Amy (Watters) Lenzendorf. He married Glenda Jane Heal on Feb. 6, 1951. Harold farmed most of their lives in the Eastman area. He was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church in Eastman. Harold loved farming, his family and his friends.

Theresa M. Morel, 82, of Muscoda passed away on Thursday, Feb. 18, at St. Mary’s Hospital. 

She was born in Prairie du Chien to Edward and Ludmilla (Balk) Fritsche. Theresa married Charles Morel in Prairie du Chien. They shared 63 wonderful years together. Theresa was a talented seamstress and worked for the Progressive for many years. Her cookies and baked goods were loved by many.

Evelyn Marie (Welsh) Knoble

 

Evelyn Marie (Welsh) Knoble, 96, of Boscobel, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the Boscobel Care and Rehab in Boscobel.

She was born on May 11, 1919, in Prairie du Chien, the daughter of Frank and Elsie (Geisler) Welsh. She married Myron Knoble on July 20, 1938 at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien. He preceded her in death on March 27, 2007.

Gertrude (Nee Killinger) Myott

 

Gertrude (Nee Killinger) Myott, entered the fullness of eternal life on Feb. 13, surrounded by her loving family. 

Gertrude was born, one of fourteen children, to Anton and Amelia (nee Eder) Killinger, and raised in Glidden, Wis. After graduating from college, she started her teaching career in a one-room schoolhouse. She taught elementary school for over 30 years; most recently in the West Grant school system.

Charles A. Buttke, 77, of Juda, passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, at his home. 

He was born on Dec. 12, 1938 in Gotham, the son of Floyd and Elizabeth (Hartwig) Buttke. He married Eileen J. Haman on Sept. 20, 1958 in San Diego, Calif.

Dale C. Duha

 

Dale C. Duha, 83, of Eastman passed away on Feb. 13, at the Prairie Maison nursing home. 

He was born on May 2, 1932 the son of Edward and Helen (Zlabek) Duha in Seneca. He graduated from Seneca High School in 1950. Dale served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Japan following WWII. He was proud of his conversion to Catholicism while in Japan. He farmed his entire life near Eastman in Seneca Township. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Council of the Knights of Columbus and his favorite Saint was St. Francis of Assisi.
