Lorenzo “Louie” Sutton Jr.

 

 Lorenzo “Louie” Sutton Jr., 81, of Prairie du Chien, died Friday, Aug. 5, at Great River Care Center, McGregor, Iowa. 

He was born Jan. 26, 1935 to Lorenzo Harold and Iona (Benhart) Sutton in Prairie du Chien. Lorenzo graduated from Seneca High School in 1952. He entered into the United States Marine Corp, served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged.

Sheryl L. Morey, 47, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Aug. 2, at her home. 

She was born Aug. 20, 1968 in Oelwein, the daughter of Larry and Peggy (Meyer) Morey. She married Mike Gould on Sept. 21, 1991. Sheryl had worked in management for Proctor and Gamble for many years and had recently moved to the Prairie du Chien area from Iowa City.

Neil J. Tollefson

 

Neil J. Tollefson, 88, of Fort Atkinson, passed away Saturday, July 30, at the Edgerton Care Center, Edgerton with his family by his side. 

He was born Aug. 23, 1927 in Prairie du Chien, the son of Nealius and Grace (Clancy) Tollefson. Neil would marry Wanda Pixler. He worked for many years at General Motors as an assembler and was a member of the local UAW Post 95. In his spare time, he enjoyed farming and country living.

Theresa M. Teachman, nee Barrette

 

Theresa M. Teachman, nee Barrette, 64, a resident of Carol Stream, Ill. since 1989, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 31. 

She was born July 30, 1952 in Prairie du Chien, to John Henry and Margaritte Barrette.

She graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 1970. She moved to Baraboo, working for Teel Plastics. In 1980 she moved to Wheaton and worked for Greater Europe Mission. She met Mark Teachman at a singles ministry at Christ Church of Oakbrook in 1984. They were married on May 31, 1986. Their son, Kyle, was born in 1990.

Margaret M. Dremsa Pettera

 

Margaret M. Dremsa Pettera, 91, Boscobel, died on Tuesday, July 26, at Crossing Rivers Health Systems in Prairie du Chien surrounded by her family. 

She was born on June 10, 1925 in Seneca, the daughter of William and Mary (Cull) Crowley. She married Fred M. Dremsa on Nov. 10, 1942 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Boscobel. He preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 1978. 

She then married Matt Pettera on June 7, 1986 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wauzeka. He preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 2006.

Kenneth I. Johnson

 

Kenneth I. Johnson, 82, of Prairie du Chien passed away Tuesday, July 26, at the Crossing Rivers Hospital. 

He was born June 26, 1934 in Coon Valley, the son of Laurence and Julia (Midtlien) Johnson. He attended Linrud Elementary School and graduated from Westby High School in 1952. Kenneth later graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Agriculture Education. He married Ruth Ann Walker on Oct. 14, 1956 at the Wyoming Valley Methodist Church near Spring Green. Kenneth devoted his career to youth and families as a 4H and Youth Agent in Waushara County in Wautoma, for 13 years and later in Crawford County at Prairie du Chien for 20 years.
