Bobbie J. Ostrander

 

Bobbie J. Ostrander, 87, of Eastman passed away Thursday, March 24, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester, Iowa.

He was born July 15, 1928 in Lynxville, the son of John and Estella (Huard) Ostrander. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Carolyn Bailey on Oct. 1, 1955 in Prairie du Chien. Bobbie worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad for 58 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Fisher- Lechnir- Wall Post 252 of Eastman. In his spare time Bobbie loved to fish.

Allen G. Lanke

 

Allen G. Lanke, 80, of Plover, died Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at Care Partners.

He was born on Aug. 14, 1935, in Prairie du Chien, to the late Lawrence and Helen (Allen) Lanke and served in the U.S. Navy from Oct. 22, 1953, until his honorable discharge on Oct. 11, 1957.

On Oct. 24, 1959, he was married to Mary Alice Diederich at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Milwaukee. She died on Oct. 31, 2015.

Duane Edward Leard

 

Duane Edward Leard of Harvard, Ill. ran full stride and pain free into the waiting arms of our Lord in the early morning of March 3. 

He was born in Prairie du Chien, and was a member of the “Blackhawk” graduating Class of ’51. He married Barbara Rose Zolts of Wonder Lake, Ill. in 1958 and worked as an electronic technician at Admiral Corporation, Sun Electric and Snap-On. Duane was a 48-year member of the Harvard Moose Lodge #1289, a patron of Mooseheart and Moosehaven and a loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers.

Sharon Sharp, 72, of Marquette, Iowa died Thursday, March 10, at Great River Care Center, McGregor, Iowa. 

Sharon Ann, the daughter of Carl and Mary (Koecke) Valley, was born June 15, 1943 in Prairie du Chien. She graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 1961. Sharon was united in marriage with Terry Sharp on Feb. 19, 1977 at St. Mary Catholic Church in McGregor, Iowa.

Hugh R. Daniels, III, (Danny), 73, of Nashville,Tenn., formerly of Eastman passed away Feb. 7, 

He was the beloved husband of Cindy (Olson), formerly of Seneca. He was Raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and retired from McGraw Hill Publishing. He was the dear father to Heidi Daniels, Joy Burcham, Erin Stamolis and Patrick Mackey, and grandfather to Houston, Griffin, and Camryn Burcham, Ella and Tess Stamolis, Emmalyn Mackey, and honorary grandchildren, Lainie and Brilie Esser.

Lillian M. Konichek

 

Lillian M. Konichek, 89, of Prairie du Chien passed away Friday, March 4, at her home surrounded by her family. 

She was born May 3, 1926 in Prairie du Chien the daughter of Vincent and Louise (Konichek) Novak. She married Lloyd Konichek on June 7, 1947 at St. John’s Church in Prairie du Chien. He preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 1993. She was a lifetime member at St. John’s and worked for many years in the bakery for the Piggly Wiggly Store. Lillian and Lloyd were past members of the Eagles Club Aerie 1502.
