Maria Ann Wenzel

 

Maria Ann Wenzel, 64, of Prairie du Chien, and longtime resident of La Crosse, passed away on July 20, in Racine. 

She was born on Nov. 19, 1950 in Winona, Minn. to Bruno and Antoinette (Sykora) Wenzel. She grew up with five brothers and two sisters in Chippewa Falls.

George P. Jansen

 

George P. Jansen, 51, of Bagley passed away in his sleep at home on Wednesday, July 22. 

He was born July 15, 1964 in Cuba City, the son of George and Cecelia (Hoelker) Jansen. 

He is survived by his mother Cecelia Jansen of Benton, his significant other, Kim Reed of Bagley; his children, George, Corey, Lori and Katie; a sister Vicki Weber of Benton and a grandson Archie. He was preceded in death by a son Benjamin; his father, along with an infant brother and sister.

Lucille Marie ‘Lucy” Eulgem

 

Lucille Marie ‘Lucy” Eulgem, 80, of Madison, formerly of Eastman, died Friday, July 17, at Trinity Senior Community in Madison. 

She was born on Oct. 15, 1934 to Ernest and Lillian (Granzow) Eulgem in Crawford County. She attended DuCharme Ridge Country School and graduated from Prairie du Chien High School. 

Lucy worked at Prairie City Bank and also for the State of Wisconsin in Madison. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison. Lucy enjoyed spending time with her friends.

Kenneth Edward Otteson

 

 Kenneth Edward Otteson, 84, of Prairie du Chien, died on July 9, at Sannes Skogdalen Heim in Soldiers Grove. 

Kenneth was born to Ernst S. and Mary Retha (Seipp) Otteson on Sept. 2, 1930 in Prairie du Chien. He was baptized and was confirmed at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien. Kenneth graduated from Campion High School, Prairie du Chien in 1948. He served in the U. S Army Reserves and National Guard, joining in July 1951.

Dorritt May Lessard

 

Dorritt May Lessard passed away at Pittsburg University Mercy Hospital on July 8, at the age of 84.

Dorritt was born in Eastman, on April 19, 1931. She was a dedicated wife and mother, enthusiastically supporting her family throughout her life, providing love, care, and encouragement in whatever life’s journey presented to her family. She was also a dedicated professional, working in the insurance industry until her retirement in 1987. Dorritt enjoyed reading, gardening, and bird watching.

Tammy M. Kansaku, 35, of Prairie du Chien passed away Monday, July 13, at her home after an extended illness. 

The family is planning a celebration of Tammy’s life for a future date that will be announced later. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.

Betty Jean Regal

 

Betty Jean Regal, 74, of McGregor, Iowa died Saturday, July 11, at Mayo Health System in La Crosse. 

Betty Jean was born on April 28, 1941 to John and Harriet (Koresh) Stevens in Prairie du Chien. She graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School, Prairie du Chien, in 1959. 

Betty was united in marriage with Dennis Regal on Sept. 23, 1961 at St. John Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien. To this union, one son was born. Betty worked at McGregor Loudspeaker in McGregor, Iowa and also owned and operated the Regal Marine in Prairie du Chien.

Rose M. Miller

 

Rose M. Miller, 81, of Prairie du Chien passed away Saturday, July 11, at the Great River Care Center in McGregor, Iowa. 

She was born Jan. 6, 1934 in Quebec, Canada the daughter of Joseph and Lena (Dias) Arrego. She was married to Kurt Miller who preceded her in death in 1975. 

She is survived by her daughters, Jean and Joan Miller of Austin, Texas along with her dear friend Benson Voigt of Prairie du Chien. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

David Lee Bird

 

David Lee Bird, 68, of Denver, Iowa formerly of Wauzeka, died Tuesday, June 30, in Waterloo, Iowa. 

David Lee was born on Nov. 15, 1947 in Prairie du Chien, to Donald and Mildred Bird. He graduated from Wauzeka High School in 1965. 

David was self-employed, working with modular homes throughout Iowa and Wisconsin. He also was a bar owner. David was known by many as “Fuzz.” He enjoyed fishing, hunting, sports and spending time with friends. David was a member of the Moose Club in Beloit, and the NRA.

Jim Chambers

 

Jim Chambers, 69, formerly of Prairie du Chien, passed away in Kent, Wash. on July 5.

Jim was born in La Crosse to Stan and Jane (Norton) Chambers on May 26, 1946. He graduated from Campion Jesuit High School in 1965 and the University of Santa Clara, Calf. in 1970 with a masters in business administration. He worked in electronic sales for many years and currently owned a consulting business for cable systems. He enjoyed golf, coin collecting, movies, music, and was an avid Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks fan.
