Emma Mary Schroen

 

Emma Mary Schroen, 87, formerly of Lancaster, and Long Neck, Del., passed away Wednesday, June 8, at Bluff Haven Assisted Living, Prairie du Chien.

Mary was born Nov. 21, 1928, in Baltimore, Md., daughter of William H. and Mary A. (Wingrove) Bloecher. She married Joseph Donald Schroen in Baltimore,on April 9, 1949. He preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 2008.

Donovan Allan Daentl

 

Donovan Allan Daentl, 81, of Prairie du Chien, died Monday, May 30, at Crossing Rivers Medical Center, Prairie du Chien. 

Donovan Allan Daentl was born Nov. 17, 1934, in Waunakee. He was the son of Melvin and Mercedes (Koch) Daentl. He was a 1953 graduate of Lodi High School. 

On June 25, 1960, he was united in marriage with Carol Jean Wolfe at Trinity Lutheran Church in La Crosse. Don was a veteran of the United States Army. He was the Crawford County Agricultural Agent from 1972 to 1992.

Marjorie K. Jaynes

 

Marjorie K. Jaynes, 82, of Prairie du Chien passed away Tuesday, May 31, at the Crossing Rivers Hospital In Prairie du Chien after an extended illness. 

She was born Sept. 6, 1933 in Bloomington, the daughter of John and Clementine (Bohnenkamp) Hermsen. She married Raymond Jaynes on May 29, 1954 at St. Mary’s Church in Bloomington. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 2007.

Donna M. Kaufman

 

Donna M. Kaufman, 88, of Prairie du Chien passed away Tuesday, May 24, at the Prairie Maison Care Center. 

She was born Aug. 30, 1927 in Wyalusing Township, the daughter of William and Edith (Ellis) Long. She married Richard Kaufman on Sept. 5, 1952 in Prairie du Chien. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2009. Donna was an active member of the Eagles Club in Prairie du Chien and enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, garage sales and gardening.

Larry Dale Gramling

 

Larry Dale Gramling, 75, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at home in Brice Prairie, Wis. on Sunday, May 22. A celebration of life will take place at the Holmen American Legion, Holmen, on Thursday May 26 at 11 a.m. with luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred in his memory to the Holmen American Legion, Post 284.

Earl Frederick Reiser

 

Earl Frederick Reiser, 78, of Prairie du Chien, died on Thursday, May 19, at Atrium Post Acute Care in Lancaster,. 

He was born Dec. 3, 1937 to Clarence “Spot” and Esther (La Velle) Reiser in Prairie du Chien. Earl was baptized and confirmed at the Methodist church in Prairie du Chien. He graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 1956.

Earl was a dispatcher and parking/meter reader for the Prairie du Chien Police Department and a school crossing guard. He enjoyed reading, Packers football, Badgers sports, old time movies and visiting with friends and family.

Melvin Julius Burgus

 

Melvin Julius Burgus, 91, of Seneca, died May 23, at the Great River Care Center in McGregor, Iowa. 

Melvin was born April 7, 1925 in Seneca Township, the son of William Frederick and Maude (Ward) Burgus. He attended country school in Seneca. He was united in marriage to Loretta Leola Krachey on April 4, 1959. To this union four children were born, William, Donald, Duane and Teresa. In his younger years, Melvin was a truck driver. He was a farmer throughout Crawford County for many years. Melvin enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and dog, Patch.

Gervase A. “Gerry” Arndt

 

 Gervase A. “Gerry” Arndt, 98, formerly of Markham, Ill., Framingham, Mass. and Chelmsford, Mass., passed away on May 19, at the Life Care Center in Billerica, Mass. He was the husband of the late Marie M. (Stoehr) Arndt, who passed away in 1987.

Born in Kendall, Wis. on March 28, 1918, he was a son of the late Walter W. and Myrtle (Abbott) Arndt.
