Dorothy E. Meng

 

Dorothy E. Meng, 87, of Bagley passed away Friday, July 22, at the Prairie Maison Care Center in Prairie du Chien. 

She was born Nov. 29, 1928 in Soldiers Grove, the daughter of Otto and Della (DeWitt) Helgerson. She married Irvin Meng on Sept. 22, 1944 in Prairie du Chien. He preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 2003. Dorothy worked at National Decorated metals in Prairie du Chien and later for Rapid Die in Cassville.

Ralph Junior Corlett

 

Ralph Junior Corlett, 88, of McGregor, Iowa died Wednesday, July 20, at Crossing Rivers Health, Prairie du Chien. 

Ralph was born June 19, 1928 to Ralph Leigh and Ruby Mae (Entwisle) Corlett in McGregor. He attended Sny Magill Country School and graduated from McGregor High School in 1946. 

Ralph was united in marriage with Olga Mae Eggen on Oct. 1, 1949 at the First Lutheran Church, McGregor. To this union ten children were born.

Viola L. Luetke

 

Viola L. Luetke, 89, of Prairie du Chien passed away Sunday, July 17, at the Vernon Memorial Hospital, in Viroqua.

She was born Oct. 5, 1926 in Santa Anna, Texas. The daughter of Richard and Cora (Younts) Earnhardt, she married Robert E. Luedtke on Aug. 18,1942. She worked for 32 years at, and retired from, Beall’s Department Store. Viola loved people. Her kind, warm heart was felt by anyone who met her. She was a true southern sweetheart, and was loved so much by her family and friends.

Robert Roscoe Tubbs

 

Robert Roscoe Tubbs, 86, of Bagley, passed away Saturday, July 16. 

He was born on Nov. 5, 1929, in Bloomington. Bob Tubbs was well known in the excavating business in Grant County and throughout Wisconsin. He enjoyed woodworking, NASCAR, and his Bagley buddies.

Tubbs is survived by his brother, Garth Tubbs, St. Charles, Mo.; sons William Tubbs, Bagley, Thomas (Roxanne) Tubbs, Helena, Mont.; and daughter, Beth Ann (Bruce) Fortner, Bagley.

Michael Edward Graap

 

 

 Michael Edward Graap died July 15, in Jacksonville, Fla. after a long battle with cancer.

Mike was born April 22, 1938 in Prairie du Chien to Julius and Grace (Millin) Graap. After serving 30 years in the U.S. Navy, he retired in Jacksonville.

He was preceded in death by his father and his wife, Irma.

Roger Lee Bernhard

 

Roger Lee Bernhard died after a long illness, in Rawlins Wyo., were he had traveled to attend the wedding of his youngest granddaughter. 

Roger married Janet (Kluesner) on Oct. 27, 1989 in McGregor Iowa, and they made their home on the farm east of Monona.

Roger was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served in Korea from 1957 thru 1959. After serving his country, he returned to Iowa. Roger worked at Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids for a while before returning to his real love of farming. He also worked at Norplex in Postville, Iowa for a period of time.

Frieda Charlene Harris

 

Frieda Charlene Harris, 79, of Prairie du Chien, died Sunday, July 3, at Gundersen Health Systems, La Crosse. 

Frieda Charlene Armbrust was born to Charles and Uenice (Maah) Armbrust on Sept. 27, 1936. She attended high school in Galena, Ill. Frieda was united in marriage with Monroe Lewis Harris on Jan. 18, 1953 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Dubuque, Iowa, they later divorced.
