Jean Lenore Wiedenmann

Jean Lenore Wiedenmann, 88, of Monona, died Monday, March 16, 2020, at Northgate Care Center in Waukon. Jean was born Nov. 1, 1931, on the family farm near Waterville, to Ben and Hulda Kolsrud. She was baptized and confirmed at Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Church in Waterville. Jean was a member of Faith Lutheran N.A.L.C. Church in Monona.

Sandra Pauline Schlitter

Sandra Pauline Schlitter, 71, of McGregor, died Saturday, March 14, 2020, at Mayo Health Systems in La Crosse, Wis. Sandra Pauline was born Nov. 20, 1948, to Harvey and Carlotta (Moen) Standorf in McGregor. She attended country school through the eighth grade and then attended Mar-Mac Community School. 

Sandra was united in marriage with Frank Schlitter on Aug. 18, 1984, at Giard Methodist Church in Giard. She helped on the farm alongside her husband, Frank.  Her hobbies included crafting, doing jigsaw puzzles, baking, cooking and listening to country and gospel music. Sandra enjoyed working in the sunshine while gardening, tending to her flowers and mowing the lawn.

Clyde Richard Thompson

Clyde Richard Thompson, 81, of McGregor, died Sunday, March 8, 2020, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wis. Clyde was born June 13, 1938, in Clayton County, to Dale and Dorothy (Fritz) Thompson. During his younger years, Clyde attended Giard Methodist Church, where he was baptized and confirmed. Clyde first attended Klema Country School, and then later attended and graduated from MFL High School in 1955. He proudly joined and served in the United States Army from Jan. 3, 1957 until Dec. 31, 1962.

Reva Ellen Radloff, 91, died Monday, March 2, 2020, at St. Mary Hospital in Rochester, Minn. Reva was born Oct. 27, 1928, to Ross and Hazel (Blackwell) Dull in McGregor. She was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist faith. Reva graduated from McGregor High School.

Dr. Donald Frost Strutt

Dr. Donald Frost Strutt, 88, passed away in his home with his family by his side.  He was born in Dodgeville, Wis., on Aug. 16,1931. The family home was in Ridgeway until after his father’s death, when Donald was 10 years old. They then moved to Dodgeville, where he felt a responsibility to his mother, younger sister and brother and went to work early in life. He graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1949.  Don married the love of his life, his high school sweetheart, Joanne Lucille Reese, on March 19, 1951. They worked and loved their way to his life’s finish line during their 69 years of marriage.

Penny Pfeiffer

Penny Sue Pfeiffer, 57, of Marquette, died Monday, March 2, 2020, at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien, Wis. Penny was born Feb. 4, 1963, to Raymond and Delva (Clausman) Huntbach in Waterloo. She graduated from Central High School in Waterloo and attended one year of college at North Western Missouri State in Maryville, Mo.

Penny was united in marriage with Kent Pfeiffer on April 28, 1990, at St. Mary Catholic Church in McGregor. Two sons were born to this union. Penny was a sergeant at the Prairie du Chien Correctional Facility since 2001. Previously she was the owner and operator of Black Hawk Dry Cleaners for nine years. She loved going to the Tropics with her husband, Kent, and spending time on the Mississippi River, boating and water skiing. Penny’s greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Henry "Pete" Kautman

Dr. Henry Joseph “Pete” Kautman, Jr., 72, of McGregor, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020, at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien, Wis. Henry Joseph was born Feb. 27, 1947, to Henry J. and Helen M. (Cowell) in McGregor. He graduated from Mar-Mac High School and attended eight years of college at Iowa State University, graduating in 1972 to become a doctor of veterinary medicine.

Pete worked as an inspector for the USDA for many years. He loved traveling and the Mississippi River, which he lived by. Pete enjoyed investments and spending time with Mary and his dog, Dusty, and cat, Sergeant Henry.

Pete is survived by his loving companion, Mary Greener of McGregor; three siblings, Thomas Kautman of McGregor, Kathryn Kautman of New Hope, Minn., and Kris Kautman of Mason City; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Royce Victor Ferguson, 71, of Prairie du Chien, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2020, at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, after succumbing to long-term health complications.

Patricia Schlueter

Patricia Ann Ottaway, 76, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 9, at the Stonehill Care Center following a long battle with cancer.

Patricia (Pat) was born on Sept. 1, 1943, in Sabula, the daughter of Eugene and Edith (McMahan) Ottaway. She was married in 1962 and later divorced. She then married Edward Schlueter Jr. in 1988 and was happily married until his death in 2016. They enjoyed traveling together, gambling and spending time with family and friends.

Marlys Pfeiffer

Marlys Kathleen Pfeiffer, 91, of McGregor, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020, at Good Samaritan Society in Waukon, with her family at her side. Marlys was born on May 8, 1928, in Dubuque. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in Dubuque in May of 1946.

Marlys was united in marriage to the love of her life, Donald W. Pfeiffer, on June 25, 1946, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dubuque. To this union seven children were born. In her spare time, Marlys enjoyed sewing, golfing, traveling and spending lots of time with her family and friends. 

Marlys is survived by her five children, Rick (Laura) Pfeiffer of Columbia, Mo.; Kirk (Barb) Pfeiffer of Sterling, Ill.; Kymm (Lee) Hinkel of Waukon; Kent (Penny) Pfeiffer of Marquette; and Kris (Scott) Dickey of Parker, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
