Jean Ann (Cox) Von Handorf, 84, of Colesburg, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Feb, 12, 2026. 

Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 16, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, conducted by Rev. Paul Baldwin. Visitation was before services at the parish center.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

James R. Klaes

“Our Little Buddy”, James Robert Klaes, was welcomed into his Savior’s arms before we could hold him in ours. For a lifetime, he will be loved. Born on Feb. 10, 2026, James left footprints on our hearts that will never fade. Though we will never watch him grow, James will always be a part of our story; he has changed us forever.

James was born to his proud and loving parents, Jonathan and Kathryn (Lee) Klaes of Guttenberg. James is carried in the hearts of his parents and extended family, who eagerly awaited his arrival.

Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 14, at Hope Lutheran Church in Littleport, conducted by Reverend Mark Yackel-Juleen.

Richard F. Newbern, 89, of Guttenberg, passed away Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026, at Unity Point Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. 

Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Guttenberg. Memorial service will commence at 10 a.m., conducted by Rev. Mike Ashman.

Interment of the cremated remains will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Guttenberg.

Ione B. Potter, 91, of Elgin, entered the presence of the Lord on Jan. 24, 2026, after a brief illness at her home in Elgin. 

Visitation was Friday, Jan. 30, at Norway Lutheran Church, St. Olaf.

Funeral services were on Jan. 31, at Norway Lutheran Church, St. Olaf, conducted by Pastor Marshall Hahn.

Clark D. Bolsinger

Clark D. Bolsinger, 98, of Guttenberg passed away at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, due to complications from congestive heart failure and pneumonia. 

Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 29, from 10-11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Guttenberg, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. Military Honors will be accorded by Guttenberg American Legion Post 373. Inurnment will take place at a later date at St. Mary’s Cemetery in rural Guttenberg.

Harold D. Schilling, 76 of Colesburg, passed away Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

Visitation was Sunday, Jan. 25, at Kramer-Morris Funeral Home in Dyersville and before services at the funeral home.

Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 26, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville, conducted by Rev. David Schatz. Burial was in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery in Petersburg.
