Carroll P. Ehrhardt

Carroll Paul Ehrhardt, 68, of Richland Center, Wis., died Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at the Richland Hospital. He was born on July 22, 1952, in Elkader, the son of William and Patricia (Mather) Ehrhardt. Carroll graduated from Central Community of Elkader High School in 1970, where he was active in FFA, along with 4-H. He attended Iowa State University from 1970-1971. Carroll was a fifth-generation farmer on the Ehrhardt farm, where he was proud of his Angus cattle. He later moved to Richland County and was very proud of his dairy farm and his rotation grazing practices.

Two Central students earn all-state honors in individual speech


Brenna Buckman earned all-state honors in the solo musical theatre event, with her performance of “I’m Still Hurting” from the production The Last Five Years.

Anna Hauschild, in her first year as a member of Central’s speech team, received all-state honors for performing Nora Ephron’s 1996 Wellesley commencement address in the public address category.

Meet the Candidates: Elkader City Council

On Tuesday, April 20, Elkader residents will vote in a special election to fill a city council seat vacated by the resignation of Ed Josten. In February, the council appointed Tony Hauber to serve the remainder of the term, which is scheduled to end in November. However, due to the success of a petition, the decision will now go to voters, who will choose between Hauber and challenger Caleb Shea. Hauber and Shea recently shared their thoughts on key issues with Times-Register reporter Willis Patenaude.

Warriors pick up dominant win at Postville, place second at Starmont

A throw of 25 feet, 8 inches put Mackenzy Ruff 14th in the shot put at the Postville meet.

On April 6, Ayla Gerndt participated in four of MFL MarMac’s five relays, including the 4x400, 4x800, sprint medley and distance medley.
