MarMac Rescue Squad seeks volunteers

Have you ever wanted to help your community? The MarMac Rescue Squad is looking for individuals to join the service. The volunteer service offers compensation for crew per call taken, and has a ride along program for individuals who want to see what EMS is all about and decide if it is right for them. MarMac Rescue Squad will handle class expenses for the right person interested in becoming an EMT/first responder.

Marlene Franzen was honored with the State Bar American Citizenship Award.

Brittney Kober received the Phineas P. Olmsted Scholarship, in honor of Monona’s founder. At the acceptance, presenter Marjorie Drahn delighted the audience by ringing the first school bell, on loan from the Monona Historical Museum.

Mackenzy Ruff was recognized numerous times at the May 12 Senior Awards and Scholarship Night. Here, she accepts the Norma Miller Salvation Army Award from teacher Megan Schellhorn.

The MFL MarMac Senior Awards and Scholarship Night for the Class of 2021 was held in the high school auditorium on May 12. Thirty presenters handed out around 50 honors, including 11 new or not recently awarded scholarships.

MFL MarMac’s 800 sprint medley team of Wyatt Powell (left), Cullen McShane, Colin Moses and Karter Decker qualified for state track after winning the relay at the May 13 district meet.

Jacob Trudo threw a personal best 45 feet, 8 inches in the shot put at districts. The effort was enough to qualify him for state.

Warriors win district meet, qualify eight events for state track

A first place finish at the district meet qualified the 4x400 meter relay team of Hannah Asche, Jaydin Dettman, Kaitlyn Wiley and Delaney Scherf for state.

The Central girls qualified for state in the 800 sprint medley relay behind runners Brandy Beatty, Grace Kuehl, Maddy Wille and Hannah Asche.

Central qualified for state in the distance medley relay thanks to Maddy Wille, Grace Kuehl, Hannah Asche and Delaney Scherf.

Brandy Beatty, Kaitlyn Wiley, Gracie Cummer and McKenna Jaster won the 4x100 meter shuttle hurdle relay at districts.

Brandy Beatty earned her way to state in the 100 meter hurdles.

Jaydin Dettman qualified for state in the 400 meter dash.

Delaney Scherf earned a trip to state in the 800 meter run.
