Bormann qualifies for state

Bormann sealed second place by pinning MFL MarMac's Rylan Schroeder in the wrestle back.

Isaiah Burns lost his opening match at 157 pounds to Sumner-Fredericksburg’s Jordan Cannon.

113-pound Jamison Feickert lost both his matches at districts.

Preston Kulper wrestled at 150 pounds, dropping a 10-5 decision to Tyce Larson of Jesup in the quarterfinals, before taking a medical forfeit in consolation round one.

Four Central wrestlers competed at districts at MFL MarMac on Feb. 10, all with their eyes on qualifying for state. Sophomore Braxton Bormann came out of the day successful, placing second at 126 pounds to advance to his second straight state tournament.

Line dancing offers night of fun and social connection at Volga Opera House


Between 15 and 30 people regularly gather for line dancing at the Volga City Opera House. Lessons provide exercise as well as social interaction, all in a fun setting. (Submitted photos)

McKenna Jaster and Molly Anderson have taught line dancing at the Volga City Opera House on the first and third Fridays of the month since last winter. Lessons this year will run through March.
