Work on McGregor’s Main Street reconstruction project shifted south of A Street last week. Work on McGregor’s Main Street reconstruction project shifted south of A Street last week.
The Earthmoving Legacy Center’s latest additions, two Holt 75 tractors, will arrive from the United Kingdom in August. The additions will help fill in World War I era gaps in the center’s storyline.
The Diesel 75 tractor was the first tractor manufactured by Caterpillar that included the 6 cylinder diesel engine. It will be added to the Earthmoving Legacy Center exhibits in August, as the restoration process nears completion.
The RD6 tractor being restored by the Earthmoving Legacy Center in Elkader is one of five of a prototype.

This year marks the 50 year anniversary of Garnavillo’s Fourth of July celebration, a tradition that dates back to 1973. This year’s theme, “Throughout the Years,” is meant to pay homage to that history.
