Two area citizens walked away with minimal injuries from a crash at the intersection of South Main Street and West Wisconsin Street in Prairie du Chien Sunday morning, Oct. 11, according to the Prairie du Chien Police Department.
At about 10:30 a.m., a 2011 Jeep, driven by Peter Mara, of Prairie du Chien, was southbound on Main Street and stopped at a stop sign controlling southbound traffic at Wisconsin Street. A 2005 Ford car, driven by Dwight Albers, of Postville, Iowa, was westbound on Wisconsin Street. Mara failed to yield the right of way to Albers, and Albers struck the driver’s side of the Jeep, causing it to spin and roll onto its side.
Both Mara and Albers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash. Albers was transported to Crossing Rivers Health with minor injuries. Mara had no apparent injuries. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed by Bob’s Towing.
