A 24-year-old White Lake, Wis. man has been charged in Crawford County Circuit Court with one count of possession of marijuana (second and subsequent offense).
Joseph D. Ferrel faces up to 3.5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted.
According to the criminal complaint, following a traffic stop in the city of Prairie du Chien, a search was conducted of Ferrel’s vehicle. Three zip-lock baggies, each containing a quantity of green plant material, were found as well as a smoking device.
Ferrel admitted to smoking marijuana earlier that morning, the complaint said. The green plant material tested positive for the presence of tetrahydrocannabinol, the active ingredient in marijuana, according to the complaint.
Ferrel has previously been convicted of possession of THC on Nov. 11, 2015.
