Downtown trick or treating is Saturday

By Correne Martin

Trick or treat hours in Prairie du Chien are from 5 to 8 p.m., on Monday, Oct. 31, as set by the Prairie du Chien Police Department. Sirens will blow at the beginning and end of the time period.

Residents are asked to leave a light on if they would like trick or treaters to stop at their houses.

Also, on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 2 to 4 p.m., costumed children are invited to visit boo-tiful downtown Prairie du Chien businesses for trick or treating. This early opportunity to visit the downtown businesses has been a tradition in the past.

Police Chief Chad Abram provided a few safety tips for local kids planning to enjoy the evening around town.

•Parents or grandparents are recommended to go trick or treating with their kids.
