The Seneca Royals boys basketball team kicked off their 2025-26 season on Monday, Dec. 1 when they hosted the Brookwood Falcons. Following a first half that saw the two teams enter intermission tied 27-27, the Royals outscored the Falcons 37-32 to earn a 64-59 season opening win.
Leading the Royals in scoring was senior Jackson Konichek with 22 points and right behind him with 21 points was fellow senior Gage Wall. Seniors Hunter Hagensick and Carson Sime each added eight points while the fifth and final senior on the roster in Kaden Roberts rounded out the Royals scoring tally with five points.
Seneca traveled to Elroy last Thursday, Dec. 4 to face the Royall Panthers. The host Panthers used 30 points from senior Trey Wildes to hold off the Royals 63-53 and improve to 3-0 on the season while Seneca dropped to 1-1 on the year. Full Royals stats were not available as of press time.
The Royals were scheduled to host conference rival La Farge last night Dec. 9 before hosting another conference rival in Kickapoo this Friday at 7:15 p.m.
