The Prairie du Chien girls wrestling team began its 2025-26 season last Thursday, Dec. 4 with a dual at De Soto and came away with a 39-0 dual win. Earning wins for the Hawks were Rosalie Kossman (107), Kylee Langdon (114), Aspen Gelo (120), Hannah Ingham (126), Paytin Primmer (132), Britney Petsche (185) and Aleaha Wall (235).

The Hawks returned the mats two days later when they traveled to Melrose-Mindoro High School for the G-E-T/Mel-Min Tournament and came back with a fifth place team finish out of 13 teams after scoring 93 points (note the team's finish is listed incorrectly in the paper version due to an error reading USA Bracketing).

Petsche went 3-0 at 185 to earn first place honors. She defeated Holmen’s Karis Dylhoff by fall in 0:56, Mondovi/Eleva-Strum’s Macy Tiegs by fall in 3:25 and Chippewa Falls’ Kennedy Kingston by fall in 1:48. Kossman went 3-1 at 107 to finish in third place while the Hawks got fifth place finishes from Gelo (4-1 at 120),  Langdon (2-2 at 114), Primmer (2-2 at 132) and Wall (1-4 at 215).

Earning a sixth place finish was Alyseia Schnitzler (1-3 at 100). Ingham went 2-2 at 126 but just missed placing.

Next up for PdC Girls Wrestling is a trip this Friday night to the Woodside Dome in Wisconsin Dells for the Duals in the Dells Tournament. Wrestling is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
