The Wauzeka-Steuben girls basketball team last Friday, Dec. 5 showed little signs of court rust during their win over the visiting North Crawford Trojans. The Hornets, playing their first game in 16 days, won their conference opener 63-25 to improve to 2-1 overall on the season and 1-0 in the Ridge & Valley Conference. Complete stats were not available as of press time.

The Hornets traveled to Dodgeville last night to take on the Albany/Monticello co-op in a good early season non-conference game for both squads. The Comets, ranked eighth in D5, fell 42-39 at home this past Friday night in a Six Rivers Conference showdown with the top ranked team in D5, the Argyle/Pecatonica Orioles. W-S ends the week by traveling to Belmont this Friday night with game time scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
