Raymond G. Troester, 82, of McGregor, passed away on Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien, Wis. He was born on June 27, 1943, to Louis and Alta (Anderegg) Troester. After completing his education, Raymond proudly enlisted in the United States Army, where he honorably served his country.

 

In September 1968, he married Janis Hamann, and together they welcomed two children. A lifelong farmer, Raymond dedicated himself to the land he loved and took great pride in his red Case IH tractors.

 

He is survived by his daughter, Pam (Jim) Lloyd; his brothers, Eldon (Lorna) Troester and Lyle (Bonnie) Troester; eight grandchildren—Matthew, Brittney, Hannah, Jason, Skie, Kallie, Kevin and Sammie—and two great-grandchildren, Reyna and Raymond.

 

Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Janis; his son, Timothy; his sisters, Ruth Weigle and Alice Staples; and his brothers, Robert and Carl Troester.

 

Services will be held at a later date.

 

Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of McGregor is assisting the family.
