Jeanette Mildred Laura Wilker, 94 of Clermont, passed away Monday, Dec. 1, 2025, at Emplify Health, West Union. She was born Feb. 13, 1931, to Harvey and Meta (Sass) Sass in Clayton Township, near Monona. She was baptized on March 31, 1931 and confirmed May 20, 1945, both in Monona. She went to Gooding School through eighth grade, and she graduated from Farmersburg High School in 1949. After graduation, she helped her father on the farm.
Jeanette was united in marriage to Karl Wilker on June 5, 1951, in Monona, by Pastor Schlueter. To this union six children were born, Ronna, Randy, Ricky, Renee, Robyn and Roger. They lived on a farm near St. Olaf for several years, then moved to a farm near Clermont until 1972 when they moved into Clermont.
Jeanette worked at Northern Engraving in Waukon from 1972 until 1977, when she started at Atwood in West Union until her retirement in 1994.
She enjoyed playing cards, making quilts, jigsaw puzzles, woodworking, polka and country music and spending time with her grand-children and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Ronna of Clermont, Renee (Brent) Ungerer of Hawkeye and Roger (Lisa) Wilker of New Hampton; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Annabele Peterson.
She was preceded in death by her husband Karl; two sons, Randy and Ricky; one daughter in infancy, Robyn; her great-grandson, Brady; her parents, Harvey and Meta Sass; one brother, Donald Sass; sister, Shirley Henkes; sister-in-law, Arlene Sass; and brother-in-law, Calvin Henkes.
A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., with a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 15, at the West Clermont Lutheran Church in Clermont, with Rev. Mike Erickson as the officiant.
Inurnment will follow at God’s Acres in Clermont.
