MFL MarMac cross country races at South Winneshiek Invitational

The MFL MarMac girls and boys cross country teams raced at the South Winneshiek Invitational on Oct. 7—their final competition before the Upper Iowa Conference meet this week. 

 

The lady Bulldogs placed fourth as a team with a score of 110, outpaced by Decorah’s 39 and a 50 from both Waukon and South Winn. Sophomores Charlotte Meyer and Evie Fritz had the top times for MFL MarMac, both finishing in 21:41.4 for respective placings of 24th and 25th. Brooklyn Landt secured 29th on a 22:05.2, then Cora Keehner and Taryn Moser were 31st and 32nd with nearly identical times of 22:15.4 and 22:15.6. Brooke Donlon crossed the finish line in 22:24.8, which was good for 38th, while Samantha Ruff and Skylar Fisk claimed the 47th and 48th spots with marks of 23:19.9 and 23:20.7. Kacie Picha was 59th at 23:48.8, Aaliyah Corcoran 69th at 24:21.8, Emma Koether 77th at 24:39.3 and Emma Driscoll 89th at 26:15.3. Charlotte Koether and Kaylee Hoth placed a respective 97th and 987th after posting times of 26:49.7 and 26:57.3, while Jerica Wille was 107th at 29:51.5 and Mariah Moser 111th at 33:51.8.

 

In the boys race, Trace Moser was the top Bulldog. He finished in 19:19.1, ranking him 49th. Jude Onken was 66th with a time of 20:10.7, followed by Adian Reynolds in the 79th position with a 21:03.9. Without Wolfgang Martins-Sabrina and Payton Schultz, they did not field a team score.

 

On Thursday, Oct. 16, MFL MarMac will head to the Elkader Golf Course for the Upper Iowa Conference meet. Action will begin at 4 p.m.
