May 28, 1941-September 9, 2025
Patricia A. Kilian, age 84, of Prairie du Chien, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025 at Bluff Haven.
She was born on May 28, 1941, in Milwaukee, WI to Alexander and Marie (Kaluzny) Szymaszek. Patricia married Richard “Dick” Kilian on May 21, 1966, at The Basilica of St. Josaphat in Milwaukee.
For many years they lived in Hubertus, where Patricia worked as a cook at Germantown High School. She served as President of the Parent-Teacher Organization and ran a local Girl Scout troop.
She enjoyed following Wisconsin sports, particularly the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Wisconsin Badgers. She loved gardening and most of all her love for her faith.
No matter where she lived she was an active member of the Catholic church. She spent many hours volunteering at the local church doing various jobs like teaching CCD Classes, ran bingo games, and helped with various festivals.
Together they moved to Prairie du Chien in 1986 where they resided for several years. Besides Prairie du Chien, Patricia and her husband Richard owned a cabin on the Chippewa Flowage in New Auburn and a home in Prentice. She loved spending time on the water, fishing, and feeding local wildlife especially deer and her beloved songbirds. They retired to Boscobel and he later preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 2021, after 55 years of marriage.
Patricia is survived by two daughters, Suzette Huggett, and Kathy (Michael) Oium, seven grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law Mark Huggett and grandson Andrew Dischinger. Patricia loved her family unconditionally and the friends she made along her life journey, especially those at Prairie Maison and Bluff Haven.
She will forever be remembered by the simple words she always said to everyone who helped her, “Thanks a Million”.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, Sept. 19, at 11 a.m. at St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish in Prairie du Chien, Fr. Brandon Guenther officiating, with private family burial in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Fennimore.
Friends may call at church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of mass.
