The Team Nickolas Tournament was a double elimination wiffleball tournament that featured 10 teams and was played over two days, Saturday, August 23 and Sunday August 24.
On Saturday night, players and fans donated to enter a Home Run Derby, where Noah Pedretti took the title, smashing 27 home runs in one round.
The tournament champions were the BWL Stars (who actually have their own league in Boscobel, Wis.). After going 2-0 on Saturday, the Boscobel squad lost their first game of the tournament Sunday morning. They would come back to beat The Wiffleballers once and Cavs vs. Cancer twice in the championship.
Overall, the tournament was a great success, featuring a good turnout and a competitive atmosphere. Team entry fees, raffle prizes and other donations helped raise funding for Nick McCullick and his ongoing battle with Osteosarcoma.
