Week two of the 2025 WIAA Football season saw the Seneca-Wauzeka-Steuben Bluegolds take on a team from the Scenic Bluffs Conference (for football anyways) for the second week in a row when they hosted the Ithaca Bulldogs last Friday night at Seneca High School. The visiting Bulldogs (ranked eighth in D7 in last week’s Bound Wisconsin Coaches Poll) entered the game coming off a 21-18 week one home win over Riverdale, another football-only team from the Six Rivers Conference.
The Bluegolds and Bulldogs got things started by exchanging a pair of touchdowns in both the first and second quarters with the only difference on the scoreboard coming from a blocked PAT kick by the Bulldogs defense as the visitors held a slim 14-13 lead at halftime.
The second half was a completely different story as the host Bluegolds completely overwhelmed the Ithaca Bulldogs with a pair of touchdowns in both the third and fourth quarters enroute to a 30 point second half and a 43-14 victory as they improved to 2-0 with the win. Final stats were not available as of press time. Ithaca begins conference play this week when they host Hillsboro, while Seneca-Wauzeka-Steuben begins Six Rivers play at Iowa-Grant this Friday night.
