August 13, 1946-June 22, 2025
 

Donald Francis O’Connell, age 78 of East Troy, WI passed away Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee. 

He was born on August 13, 1946, to Donald and Irene (Reed) O’Connell. After graduating from Seneca High School, he moved to Mukwonago, where he began his career as a truck driver. Don transported concrete for many years. 

He married Rose Fanello on Sept. 3, 1966, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien. Don loved to hunt, fish, and spend time on the family land, all while enjoying an ice-cold Diet Pepsi. His grandchildren were his pride and joy and he cherished their presence in his life. 

Don’s wife Rose preceded him in death in 2017. 

He is survived by his children Andrew (Traci) O’Connell and Amy (Jeff) Troutman; six siblings; grandchildren Allison (Mark) Jasperson, Amber (Olivia) O’Connell, Kaitlyn (Ethan) Sweet, Savannah (Jacob) Longstreet, and Sam (Lauren) Goral; great grandchildren Peyton, Teddy, Parker, Adah, Mason, Waylon, and one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.

A graveside service will be Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 10 a.m. in the Calvary Cemetery in Prairie du Chien, Fr. Brandon Guenther officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Eastman Fire Department in Eastman, WI. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family. www.garrityfuneralhome.com
