Pair of local baseball players earn WBCA All-State honors

The Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association announced last week their 2025 All-District and All-State teams and a pair of local players were honored with WBCA All-State recognition.
River Ridge sophomore infielder Cael Koenig was named Honorable Mention All-State by the WBCA. Koenig batted .506 during the 2025 season.
Also earning all-state recognition was Prairie du Chien junior outfielder Deacon Chesebro who was named to the WBCA’s Academic All-State team for 2025.
To earn a spot on the Academic All-State Team, players must meet this criteria:
1. Be a Junior or Senior
2. Receive first or second team all-conference recognition
3. Their head coach must be a WBCA Member.
4. The players’ GPA must be 4.00 or higher.
All-District teams were announced a few days prior to the All-State teams and a handful of local players received All-District recognition.
All-Southwest District
First Team: Koenig (So.), River Ridge.
Second Team: Gage Wall (Jr.), Seneca
Honorable Mention: Carter Copsey (Sr.) and Blake Reynolds (So.), River Ridge.
Seneca: Dawson Davidson, Sr. and Jack Gallagher, Sr.
Academic All-District: Chesebro (Jr.) and Bryce Lenzendorf (Sr.), Prairie du Chien and Andrew Nies (Sr.), River Ridge.
