 April 2, 1937-June 2, 2025

Janet M. McKinley age 88, of Lehigh Acres, Fla., passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025.  

She was born in Seneca on April 2, 1937, the daughter of Tilmon and Minnie (Munson) Olson. 

She married Harry McKinley Jr. on June 17, 1961, at Utica Lutheran Church. After their marriage, they lived in Kenosha where they raised their two daughters, Barbara and Michelle. Janet and Harry worked together owning several businesses and real estate rentals, all while Janet taught school full-time. 

Janet was a beloved teacher who touched the lives of countless students during her teaching career of 43 years. She was a fun-loving, vibrant spirit who always welcomed a game of cards with family, a glass of wine with friends, and watching a beautiful sunset. Janet’s husband Harry preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 2024, after 63 years of marriage. 

Janet is survived by two daughters, Barbara McKinley and Michelle McKinley; and sibling John (Betty) Olson. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and brothers Thomas, Elmer, and Leonard Olson. 

Funeral Services were held Monday, June 9, at 11 a.m. at Utica Lutheran Church near Mt. Sterling, WI, Pastor Lynn Schreck officiated with burial in the church cemetery.
