Shirley A. Leliefeld, 84, of Guttenberg, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2025, at MercyOne Medical Center in Dubuque.

Visitation will be held from 3 - 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, at Morris Funeral Home in Guttenberg. Visitation will continue Thursday morning from 9 - 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Guttenberg, prior to funeral services.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Guttenberg, with burial following at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Rev. Paul Kwaku Ameyaw will officiate with Deacon Pfaffly assisting.

Shirley was born on Aug. 15, 1940, in Monona, daughter of Ray and Dorothy (Havelick) Hinzman.

Shirley was united in marriage to Allen Leliefeld at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Guttenberg, June 1, 1963. 

Survivors include her daughter, Sandy (Jeff) Ashline; five grandchildren, Nick (Iveth) Ashline and Stephanie Ashline, Truman (Emma), Sophie and Charlie Cherne; great-grandchildren, Michael and Lily Ashline; siblings, Pat (Terry) Meyer, Bob (Donna) Hinzman and Rick (Deb) Hinzman.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Allen in 2019; a daughter, Christine Cherne in 2012; her parents and siblings, Rosalie Duwe, Ronald, Ralph, Roger and Raymie Hinzman, Mary Lou Harbaugh; in-laws, Albert and Helen Leliefeld. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Guttenberg.

The family would like to thank Guttenberg Municipal Hospital and MercyOne Medical Center, Dubuque for their compassion and care.
