The MFL MarMac boys golf team clinched three more Upper Iowa Conference dual wins—and a school record—last week, in meets against Central, Turkey Valley and West Central.

The Bulldogs bested Central 163-177 in an April 29 make-up meet at the Elkader Golf and Country Club. Warrior Griffen Hammersland shot an identical 39, but edged MFL MarMac’s Quinn McGeough for medalist honors. Ben Krambeer and Wesley Corlett finished a respective third and fourth with scores of 40 and 41. Jarett Hanson turned in a 43, followed by Jaxon Lamborn with a 45 and Jaron Wille a 46.

On May 1 versus Turkey Valley, MFL MarMac put up a season- and program-best 149 at Tri City Golf Course, breaking the team scoring record of 152 set a year ago. The Trojans shot a 179.

McGeough and Krambeer led the effort with 35s, finishing three strokes better than closest Trojan Nicholas Bernhard, who shot a 38. Corlett ended the round with a 39 and Hanson a 40, while Lamborn turned in a 43 and Wille a 44.

The Bulldogs followed that up with a 165 against West Central at Big Rock Country Club on May 2. The Blue Devils did not field a full team.

Medalist honors went to Krambeer, who shot a 39, then Wille was the runner-up with a 40 and McGeough third with a 41. Hanson earned a 45, matching the score from West Central’s top golfer, Blake Eitel. Corlett followed with a 46 and Lamborn a 47.

MFL MarMac hosted Clayton Ridge May 5, then will take on Postville May 8. It’s the team’s final duals before the Upper Iowa Conference meet at Jackson Heights Golf Course on May 12.
