Prairie du Chien senior Blake Thiry kicked off his 2025 track season this past Saturday morning at the Wisconsin Track and Field Association’s 2025 Indoor State Track Meet at UW-Whitewater. He came back with a state title in the long jump with a jump of 21-08.50.

Senior Hunter Straka finished 15th in the event with a jump of 20-02.00.

Also competing in the event for the Hawks were Jackson Perkins (80th, 18-00.00), Brock Radloff (82nd, 17-10.75) and Ashton Landt (88th, 17-08.50).

Thiry also finished as runner-up in the Triple Jump with a jump of 45-08.00, while fellow senior Perkins was 65th with a jump of 36-09.75. Thiry just missed qualifying for the finals in the 60 Meter Hurdles with a time of 8.53 seconds.

Also competing for the Prairie boys during the day was Radloff in the High Jump, Westin Marx in the Shot Put (88th, 40-00’) and the boys 4x200 Meter Relay team of Garrett DeHart, Perkins, Mason Hird and Thiry which finished 32nd in a time of 1:39.02.

Unlike the official WIAA State Track Meet in June, this meet is not separated into divisions. The Hawks finished ninth out of 50 schools with 18 points, just ahead of Division One programs such as Kimberly, Franklin, Sussex Hamilton, DC Everest, Greenfield and Kaukauna.

Following last night’s meet at North Crawford, the Hawks return to the track tomorrow afternoon at the Lancaster Invitational starting at 4 p.m.
