Matthew Brownfield, director of the Guttenberg Chamber of Commerce, abruptly resigned his position on March 23.

In a letter to the Chamber board and others, Brownfield said, "It is with deep appreciation and gratitude that I submit my resignation...I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all past and present board members, our dedicated local leaders, and the incredible community of Guttenberg."

He concluded his two-page letter with a reference to "hitting the roads and traveling the U.S.....Adventure calls and I must answer."

Brownfield served as Chamber director since November 2024.
