Oaklynn M. Peterson, 11, passed away Friday, March 7, 2025, at home surrounded by her family following an extended illness. 

She was born on May 11, 2013, to Michael Peterson and Carah (née Teynor) Kann. 

Oaklynn attended River Ridge School and was currently in the sixth grade. 

She enjoyed country music and spending time with her family, especially her brothers Gauge, 8; Kason, 2; and Stetson, seven months. 

Oaklynn loved her extended friends she made during all the time she spent at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. 

She also enjoyed riding a dirt bike, riding her pony, hunting and fishing with her dad and her brother Gauge at the farm, and riding four wheelers and the side by side. 

She is survived by her parents Michael Peterson and Carah (Joseph) Kann; Siblings: Hesston Amling, and Gauge Peterson, Kason Kann, and Stetson Kann; grandparents: Jason and Sherri Teynor, Virginia Teynor, Jym and Diane Peterson, Brian Kann, Melissa Larson; great-grandparents; Phillip and Mary Nicholson, Donna Teynor and Beverly Heins along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.  

She was preceded in death by her great grandfather Jason “Tony” Teynor and uncle Jason Teynor III.  

A Memorial Visitation will be on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien, where there will be a vigil service held at 3:30 p.m. 

Private inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Oaklynn's name to be donated to some of her favorite charities.  

According to Oaklynn’s wishes, her family invites those attending to wear their favorite dress and/or hat.
