William M. Blanchard

William M. Blanchard, 81, of Guttenberg passed away Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, at his home with his family by his side.
Funeral services were Monday, March 3, at Morris Funeral Home in Guttenberg. Visitation was before services at the funeral home.
Private family burial was at the Guttenberg City Cemetery. Military honors were accorded by Offutt Air Force Honor Guard.
William was born on April 8, 1943, in Manchester, son of William R. and Ava J. (Porter) Blanchard. He grew up in Delhi. After graduation, he attended DeVry Technical Institute. He found a job in Guttenberg at Neil Webster’s TV repair shop. While working in Guttenberg, he met his future wife, Elaine Moser, at the Corner Café. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served from April of 1964 to April of 1968. During that time, he was stationed in Elk City, Okla. He moved his family back to Guttenberg. He owned Bill’s TV & Appliance for many years. He also worked at Guttenberg High School as a bus driver
After retirement, he and his wife, Elaine, enjoyed spending winters in Arizona. He enjoyed traveling the country, nearly traveling to all 50 states, playing golf, bowling, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends, especially his granddaughter, Emily.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Elaine; children, Angie (Vince) Bradshaw of Scottsdale, Ariz., Brent (Bev) Blanchard of Guttenberg; granddaughter, Emily Blanchard of Guttenberg; and a brother, Dennis (Ann) Blanchard of Bettendorf.
