March 29, 1965–February 13, 2025

Daniel R. “Dan” Steiger, age 59, of Bagley, passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025, at Crossing Rivers Hospital in Prairie du Chien. 

He was born Mar. 29, 1965, the son of James and Maryann (Zenz) Steiger. 

Dan graduated from Bloomington High School in 1983. He furthered his education in the welding program at Southwest Technical College in Fennimore. Dan was employed at Bituma in Marquette, Iowa. 

In 1986, Dan and Kelly moved to Las Vegas, Nev., where he was employed with Pronto Construction as a Superintendent. 

On Dec. 27, 1992, Dan was united in marriage to Kelly L. Fuller at the Crawford County Courthouse, in Prairie du Chien. 

In 1993, Dan and Kelly moved back to Bloomington and farmed on Rolling S Farms with his family. Dan later started driving truck for Sunkiss’d TNT in Fennimore. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Patch Grove Town Board, enjoyed hunting, fishing, going on ranger rides, traveling, and hanging out with his family and friends. 

Surviving is his loving wife: Kelly; their children: Nick (Katie) and Sammy (Grant) Russell; a Grandson: Reese, and two grandchildren on the way; Dan’s parents: Jim and Maryann; siblings Mike (Paula), Ben, Jamie (Jackie), Michelle (Todd) Kielley, Matt (Darci), Chris (Darren) Fritsche, Jon, Jenny (Larry) Toberman, and  Fred (Brooke) Steiger; in-laws: Michelle (Jeff) Warne and Barron (Becky) Fuller; and many nieces, nephews and friends; his dogs: Newt and Buffy, and a cat BB.

Dan was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law: Denny and Bonnie Fuller. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, at noon at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington, with Fr. Sudhakar Devarapu officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date. Family and friends may call on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home and Crematory in Bloomington is assisting the family.
