Timberwolves at conference meet

Competing at last Saturday’s Scenic Ridge & Rivers conference meet, coach Brad Lange’s River Ridge wrestling team finished ninth of 11 teams with 48.5 team points.
Taking top honors with a score of 193 was De Soto, followed by Royall/Wonewoc Center with 189.
The Timberwolves’ top individual finisher was 144-pound sophomore Cael Koenig, who finished third in his weight class with a record of 3-1, winning his third-place match over Jeff Bender of Royall/Wonewoc Center by pin.
Fourth-place finishers for River Ridge included 150-pound sophomore Lane Marshall, 165-pound sophomore Emery Simerson and 215-pound freshman Ashton Crubel.
On the day, Marshall and Crubel each went 1-2, while Simerson was 2-2.
Koenig holds the team’s best record of the season at 32-14, while Simerson is second at 20-24. Landon Udelhofen has a season record of 16-23, while Logan Callahan is 11-21, and Cameron Wehrle 11-35.
Rylan Kirschbaum currently has a season record of 9-31, while Lane Marshall is 8-26, and Ashton Crubel 8-32.
This Saturday, the Timberwolves will compete at the Division 3 Mineral Point Regional, which is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
