September 11, 1963–February 8, 2025

Kenneth Floyd Dowling passed away on Feb. 8, 2025 at his group home in Prairie du Chien.

Kenny was born in Boscobel on Sept. 11, 1963, to Floyd and Florence Betty Dowling.

He was a member of the Community of Christ church where at Christmas time he would sign “Silent Night” as the congregation sang, sharing his gift while reminding all of us the reason for the season. He is now off riding with Batman and singing with the angels.

Kenny was a mischievous soul and his infectious smile touched so many hearts. He was our reality check and a reminder you can find good and happiness in everything.

Kenny was active in Special Olympics and was an avid bowler and bocce ball player. Kenny's greatest loves though were music and listening to sports. There wasn't a song he wouldn't sing along with, whether he knew the words or not, and he had the moves to dance to anything!

His favorite sports teams were the Badgers, Loggers, Packers, Brewers and Bucks as well as all the Prairie du Chien and North Crawford High School teams. He would put on his headphones, crank up the radio and his cheers could rock the house.

In years, he was a man, but he always had the gentle spirit of a boy.

Kenny helped a couple of seasons at Sunrise Orchards labeling bags and worked many years at the Opportunity Center packing, as he was good with numbers.

And that aptitude for numbers carried through to another of his greatest joys — birthdays. He remembered the date you were born and never forgot a birthday of those close to him. He would pull out his pocket calculator and tell you and everyone else how old you were.

Kenny is survived by his special sister-in-law, Nancy Dowling, brother David (Barbara) Dowling, sister Beverly Schwartz, nieces Chelsea Dowling and Kari Schmitt, nephews Andy, Jon and Brian Dowling, Jason and Dustin Dowling and Tom and Jim Schwartz as well as their children and his "out east" relatives.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Betty Dowling, and his brother, Bob Dowling.

There will be a visitation on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025 at the Community of Christ Church, 43983 County Road X, Soldiers Grove, from 1 to 3 p.m. followed by a celebration of life at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given to the Opportunity Center in Prairie du Chien in his memory.

Online condolences can be left at www.kendallfuneralservice.com.
