Richard E. Sutton

Richard E. Sutton, 65, Prairie du Chien, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025, at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien.
He was born on March 6, 1959, to George and Adeline (Chamberlain) Sutton.
Richard worked at the Opportunity Center in Prairie du Chien for many years and enjoyed spending time at Badger Camp.
He lived at Prairie Maison for the last several years and became good friends with those around him. Richard’s life has been one of joy, spent with his loving parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His life was enriched by the communities of the Opportunity Center, Badger Camp and St. Peter Evangelical Church in Prairie du Chien. Richard’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all the staff at Prairie Maison and Crossing Rivers for providing such loving care in his final days.
Richard’s family would also like to thank Pastor Miranda from St. Peter for consoling him and conducting a worship service in his honor.
Richard is survived by his mother Adeline Sutton; brother Bob (Cathy) Sutton; sisters Sharon (Larry) Krause, Betty (Rick) Brown, Linda Steiner, and Ruth (Kevin) Vorwald; nieces and nephews Jeff (Suzy), Jason (Lucinda), Jared (Rachel), Tanya (Steve), Todd (Josée), Adam, Tarah (Aaron), Chelsey (Luis), Amanda (Jason), Alison, Erika, Jessica (Ankur), Rebecca, Patricia, Nicholas (Adele), and Matthew (Keli); and great nieces and nephews Jordan, Tyler (Brittney), Cody, Jake, Ella, Josephine, Vivienne, Brian (Anja), Ethan, Alannah, Austin, Alexander, Matthew, Benjamin, Aston, Annelie, Owen, Weston, Cruz, Emma, Aliya, and Ryhan.
He was preceded in death by his father George Sutton; brother John Sutton; brother-in-law David Steiner and many other relatives.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, Feb. 1, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien.
