February 11, 1955–January 14, 2025
LuCinda “Cindy” Wolcott, age 69, passed away on Jan. 14, 2025.
Cindy was born to Allerick and Marie Whiteaker on Feb. 11, 1955. She had two sons, Glenn and Kirk. Over her life, Cindy worked for Advanced Transformer in Monona, Iowa; Walmart in Prairie du Chien; and served the city of Prairie du Chien as a crossing guard.
But Cindy’s favorite job was Grandma, even to kids that weren’t hers, always spreading love and kindness. Cindy enjoyed doing crafts and puzzles. She was known for her selflessness, always willing to help anyone in need. Cindy had a special love for Christmas, often showering her grand kids with as many as 50 gifts each, making the holiday season magical for them.
Cindy is survived by her two sons, Glenn (Tanya) Wolcott of West Union, Iowa, and Kirk Wolcott of Prairie du Chien; her sisters, Pam Check and Patty Lessard both of Prairie du Chien; and her brother, Allerick “Al” Whiteaker of Little River, S.C.; and her four grandchildren, Gregory, William, Abigail, and Nicolas all of West Union, Iowa.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Allerick and Marie Whiteaker, and by the father of her children, Thomas Wolcott.
In keeping with her generous spirit, Cindy’s body was donated to medical science, continuing her legacy of helping others. This selfless act will contribute to future medical advancements and education, potentially saving countless lives and improving the quality of life for many.
