May 5, 1942–December 30, 2024

Carroll A. Paulson, age 82 of Prairie du Chien passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2024, at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien. 

Carroll was born in Prairie du Chien to Myra (Aspenson) and Paul Paulson on May 5, 1942. 

He married Janet Schneyer on Nov. 30, 1963, and together they raised two sons, Randy and Bruce. 

Carroll was employed at International Harvester and later at Miniature Precision Components (MPC), both in Prairie du Chien.  

After retirement, he drove bus for the Opportunity Center, a job he enjoyed very much, and also worked seasonal in the shipping department at Cabela’s on Sundays. 

Carroll graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 1960.  He had a successful career in high school sports and was very pleased to be one of the 1959 track team members to be inducted into the Prairie du Chien High School Hall of Fame in 2023. 

Carroll enjoyed spending time up north at the family cottage “Back of the Moon” on Bony Lake in Barnes, where he made many friends on the golf course, with nearby neighbors, and at the area cafe daily coffee group.  

At home he enjoyed morning coffee and catching up on local news for many years at the Coach’s Restaurant and later at Huckleberry’s. 

Carroll is survived by his wife, Janet of 61 years; sons Randy (Kim) and Bruce Paulson; four grandchildren, Morgan (Jason) Bonfiglio, Rachel Paulson, Drew Paulson, and Allison Canterbury; and three great-grandchildren, Oliver and Beau Bonfiglio and Vivian Canterbury.  

He is also survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sandra and Raymond Kittle and their family; sister-in-laws De Paulson and LaVonne Paulson and their families.  

He was predeceased by his parents, Myra and Paul Paulson, brothers Paul and Gary, sister Karen Paulson and her husband Bill Small, and nephew Dennis Paulson.

A Memorial Service will be Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Prairie du Chien, with private inurnment at a later date. 

Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
