The Guttenberg Gallery and Creativity Center, located at 214 South River Park Drive in Guttenberg, is set to welcome area shoppers for its third annual one-day-only holiday sale on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
The local nonprofit, committed to promoting the arts and local artists, will provide a warm, welcoming environment sure to inspire the Christmas spirit in everyone.
Volunteers, director Cindy Olson, and board member Steve Solomon have been busy creating stunning artisan glass, pottery, ceramics, felted and jewelry gifts sure to please even the most difficult person on your Christmas gift list. "We have been busy creating Christmas items since Labor Day weekend," shared Olson.
Items available include glass stir sticks, icicles, gnome ornaments, package tags, Christmas trees, wreaths, winter scenes, plates, pottery, ceramic ornaments, hand blown glass, watercolor, oil and acrylic paintings, one-of-a-kind felted Christmas stockings and much more. "Our glass package tags go fast," said Olson. "Each one is unique and can be written on with a dry erase marker and reused year-after-year."
On hand will be Mrs. Claus and her elves serving complimentary Peppermint Affogatos – peppermint ice cream served with a shot of espresso topped off with whipped cream and a mini candy cane, and trays of decadent sweet treats. Complimentary gift wrapping, shipping and special orders will also be available that day only. "We have really ramped up our inventory" Olson commented. "Anyone who has attended this holiday event in the past knows how special it is and how much we appreciate our customers' support."
The 100 percent volunteer driven art center recently celebrated their 15-year anniversary providing resources to inspire artistic creativity in a variety of media platforms to area residents and visitors to Guttenberg.
The non-profit gallery features the work of area artists’ pottery, jewelry, glass, reclaimed wood and more. The studio offers creative opportunities to paint your own pottery, and design mosaics and glass fusion.
Ongoing events include Kids in the Kitchen, Wednesday watercolor workshops throughout the summer, and felting, stained glass, pottery and Diva Nights, which sell out and fill up fast.
The studio and gallery are also available for private parties and events, and continue to raise awareness and funds for mistreated elephants in Thailand, and the local Guttenberg Municipal Hospital & Clinics Family Resource Center.
"Most people that have attended the event in the past have returned each year," she said with gratitude.
If there is anything left in your charitable account, please consider a donation to the nonprofit Guttenberg Gallery and Creativity Center through PayPal giving fund.
