Kicking off the 2024-25 season last Tuesday, Nov. 19, at home, the Wauzeka-Steuben girls basketball team welcomed the Southwestern Wildcats to town for a non-conference contest. 
The Hornets opened their season with a 36-9 halftime lead over the visitors from Hazel Green before earning a 60-31 win. 
Final stats were not available as of press time.
The Hornets then traveled to Lancaster two nights later but were handed a 48-44 overtime loss to even their record at 1-1 on the season. 
Final stats were also not available for this game as of press time. Wauzeka-Steuben is now off until next Tuesday, Dec. 3, when they start Ridge & Valley Conference play by hosting Kickapoo.
