The family of Mr. and Mrs. Roy and Heather Kramer suffered a tragic loss on Tuesday, October 29. Heather L. Kramer, age 45 of Eastman, and her two sons Benjamin A. Kramer, age 16, and Simon F. Kramer, age 13 passed away due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Heather was born May 18, 1979, to Richard and Fay (Weisman) Pergande. She graduated from Columbus High School in Columbus before attending Southwest Technical College in Fennimore, where she obtained her nursing degree.
She later became a midwife and co-owner of Trillium Midwifery Services, serving southwest Wisconsin and Northeast Iowa. She assisted in roughly 700 births.
Heather married Roy Kramer on June 12, 1999, in East Bristol. They settled in Eastman, where they raised 13 children.
Heather was an active member of St. Mary’s church group in Fennimore and an avid supporter of the Life Guardians of Wisconsin.
Benjamin A. Kramer was born July 16, 2008, to Roy and Heather Kramer in Boscobel. He grew up in Eastman and was currently a junior in high school.
He enjoyed hunting and all of his boy’s groups he was active in through the church, always hitting it off with everyone he encountered.
Simon F. Kramer was born March 8, 2011, to Roy and Heather Kramer in Boscobel. He grew up in Eastman and just recently spent a year studying abroad in Spain as a foreign exchange student.
Simon enjoyed reading, spending time with his family and friends, especially Josh Winter, Iver Johnstad and Lawrence Walz.
Heather is survived by her husband of 25 years, Roy; their children Rachel, Matthew (Melissa), Samuel, Isaac (Isabelle), Lydia, Madelyn, Colette, Paul, Cosmas, and Damian Kramer; her parents, Richard and Fay (Weisman) Pergande; brother, Nick (Megan); one grandson, Matthew A. Kramer and one on the way.
Heather was preceded in death by her daughter Rose and her grandparents Kenneth and Rose Weisman and Ida and Clarence Pergande.
Benjamin and Simon are survived by their father Roy; 10 siblings; paternal grandparents Calvin and Janice Kramer and maternal grandparents Richard and Fay Pergande; and nephew Matthew. They were preceded in death by their sister Rose.
Requiem Mass was held on Monday, November 4, at 1 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fennimore, Rev. Carlos Reinoso SJP officiating with burial in the Shanghai Ridge Cemetery in Eastman.
