The Prairie du Chien/River Ridge/Seneca Boys Soccer team traveled to Whitewater High School last Tuesday night to start postseason play against the Jefferson Eagles.
The Eagles (hosting in Whitewater due to having a non-WIAA postseason regulation sized field in Jefferson) took advantage of a Blackhawks roster impacted by injuries and low numbers to jump out to a 3-0 lead in the first half before senior Jackson Perkins got the Hawks on the scoreboard with 40 seconds remaining in the first half after pushing the ball past a diving goalie to make the score 3-1.
The Jefferson offense exploded for six more goals in the second half as they earned a 9-1 win to eliminate the Hawks and advance to the D3 Regional Semifinal round.
The Hawks finish the 2024 season with a 1-11-2 overall record and will graduate three seniors in Eric Nichols, Perkins and Peter Polodna.
