River Ridge hosts XC meet at Badger Camp

At their annual home meet held at Wisconsin Badger Camp last Tuesday evening, River Ridge’s Leah Patterson took top honors in the girls race of 45 runners, while her brother Luke finished fifth of 73 participants in the boys race.
Leah Patterson, a sophomore at River Ridge, ran the 5,000-meter course in a time of 21:36.2, finishing nearly a full minute ahead of Riverdale junior Mallory Miess.
Rounding out the top-finishers for the River Ridge girls were sophomore McKenzie Taylor in 16th (25:07.1), sophomore Kristina Sletten in 21st (26:03.9), sophomore Yoselin Bautista in 24th (26:34.9) and sophomore Chloe Wests in 28th (27:18.3).
As a team, the River Ridge girls finished fourth with a team score of 66, while Kickapoo/La Farge took top honors with a score of 27.
For the River Ridge boys, Luke Patterson finished fifth overall with a time of 18:22.0, while Wauzeka-Steuben senior Brett Wagner took top honors with his time of 18:05.4.
River Ridge’s top-five runners included: junior Mason Pecinovsky in 11th place (19:05.1), senior Colton Moris in 20th (19:49.1), senior Wyatt Bausch in 38th (21:45.2) and junior Luke Breuer in 42nd (22:11.5).
