Hornets swept at North Crawford, sweep La Farge co-op

The Wauzeka-Steuben Hornets Volleyball team traveled to North Crawford High School on Tuesday, Oct. 8 when they competed in a conference quad meet against Seneca and North Crawford. The host Trojans defeated the Hornets 3-0 (25-14,25-21,25-22) before Seneca also defeated W-S 3-0 (25-12, 25-9 and 25-11).
The Hornets were back home two nights later to host La Farge/Youth Initiative for senior night and came away with a 3-0 match win over the Wildcats thanks to set wins of 25-23,25-9 and 25-17. The win improved Wauzeka-Steuben’s record to 8-10 overall and 5-7 in the Ridge & Valley Conference.
Wauzeka-Steuben traveled to Cazenovia last night for a match with the Weston Silver Eagles before traveling to Ithaca tomorrow night to conclude the regular season. The Hornets received the no. 8 seed in their D5 regional grouping and will host no. 9 seed Weston next Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. with the winner traveling to no. 1 seed Highland on Thursday, Oct. 24.
