Cross country teams run at River Ridge

The Prairie du Chien, Seneca and Wauzeka-Steuben cross country teams each competed at the River Ridge Invitational at Badger Camp on Tuesday, October 8.
Leading the way for area teams in the boys race was Prairie du Chien. The Hawks placed second with 76 points.
The Hawks were followed by Wauzeka-Steuben in fourth place with 82 points. Seneca did not have enough runners to qualify for the team race.
The Hawks got top ten finishes from Sam Kramer in third place in a time of 18:11, and Spencer Foley in ninth place in 18:49.
Also running for the Hawks were Treyton Reames in 12th (19:11), Landon Smith in 21st (20:12), Lane Henderson in 31st (21:40), Joey Kramer in 41st (23:39), Drew Becwar in 45th (28:10) and Carter Neis in 69th (28:13).
Winning the meet individually was Hornets senior Brett Wagner in a time of 18:05. His teammate Nolan Reed-Mullikin was fourth in a time of 18:17. Rounding out the race for W-S was Cody Wagner in 20th (20:07), Josh Martin in 28th (21:13), Parker McCullick in 29th (21:25) and Stetson Zeeh in 47th (30:46).
Seneca was led by Jaren Grimsled in 18th place (19:43), Thomas Caya in 39th (21:48), Pablo Altadill-Salmon in 64th (26:41) and Grant Sime in 70th (30:35).
Prairie du Chien also finished second as a team in the girls race with 58 points. Finishing in third place with 63 points was Wauzeka-Steuben.
Prairie du Chien was led by top ten finishes from Tannah Radloff in third place (22:58) and Karly Kramer in eighth place (24:00). Rounding out the meet for PdC was Allison Mathies in 11th (24:36), Kate Gebhard in 13th (25:28), Autumn Ziegler in 23rd (28:02), Madelyn Coffield in 26th (28:50) and Costanza Reyes in 27th (29:47).
Isabella Bunders finished seventh in 23:46 to lead the Hornets with teammate Alayna Martin not too far behind in ninth (24:02). Rounding out the race for Wauzeka-Steuben was Emma Udelhoven in 14th (25:47), Leah Peralta in 16th (26:08), Mallory McCullick in 17th (26:15) and Ellah Jones in 19th (26:40). Seneca’s Livian Starkey finished in 38th (29:44).
Wauzeka-Steuben and Seneca ran at last Saturday’s Riverdale Invitational. The Hornets finished ninth in the boys race with 270 points while the Royals were 17th with 418 points.
Running for the Hornets was B. Wagner in fifth (17:13), Reed-Mullikin in 28th (18:19), C. Wagner in 68th (19:27), J. Martin in 80th (19:57), P. McCullick in 89th (20:33), Andrew Mezera in 100th (21:00) and Zeeh in 124th (27:57).
The Royal boys were paced by Gabriel Hamann in 25th (18:06), Grimsled in 66th (19:21), Caya in 92nd (20:38), Simon Fek in 114th (21:48) and Altadill-Salmon in 121st (24:55).
Wauzeka-Steuben placed 10th with 282 points in the girls race. The Hornets were led by Bunders in 42nd (22:35), Udelhoven in 53rd (23:28), A. Martin in 57th (23:55), Jones in 62nd (23:59), M. McCullick in 68th (24:27) and Peralta in 89th (26:36).
The Hornets and Royals will run next at the Ridge & Valley Meet tomorrow night at the Hornets home course on County N.
